1. What age group are the Vietnamese classes for?

Our Vietnamese Language Classes are designed for children ages 4–18, with lessons tailored by age and ability. Adults are also able to enroll in Private Vietnamese Lessons. Younger children focus on basic words, songs, and cultural activities, while older students build vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills at their own pace. We have classes for beginners, intermediate students, and advanced students.

2. Does my child need to already know some Vietnamese?

Not at all! We welcome complete beginners as well as children who may already speak or understand some Vietnamese at home. Beginners start with everyday words and simple phrases, while heritage speakers receive activities that strengthen reading, writing, and grammar.

3. What will my child learn in these classes?

Students learn to speak, understand, read, and write in Vietnamese. Lessons cover vocabulary, sentence building, and conversation practice. We also include cultural lessons—such as holidays, music, and traditions—so children connect with the language in a meaningful way.

4. How do you keep the classes fun and engaging?

We use songs, games, storytelling, role-play, and hands-on cultural activities to keep learning lively and enjoyable. Children practice through real-life scenarios, such as ordering food, introducing themselves, or celebrating Vietnamese festivals, so they stay engaged while building useful skills.

5. How long are the classes, and how often do they meet?

Classes are typically 60 minutes long and meet once a week. We offer flexible scheduling, including after-school, evening, and weekend options, so families can easily fit language learning into their routines.

6. Are there opportunities for children to showcase what they’ve learned?

Yes! Students often participate in cultural events and family showcases where they can sing Vietnamese songs, perform short skits, or share projects. We also celebrate important cultural events like Tết (Lunar New Year) and the Mid-Autumn Festival, which give children a chance to experience Vietnamese traditions firsthand.

7. What are the benefits of learning Vietnamese at a young age?

9. How big are the class sizes?

We keep our classes small so that every child receives personal attention and plenty of opportunities to practice speaking. Smaller groups also help children feel comfortable participating, which is especially important when learning a new language.
