What age should my child start violin lessons?
We recommend starting around age 4, but some students can begin earlier or later depending on finger dexterity and attention span. We also welcome teens and adults of all levels. Students younger than 4 should first receive a consultation to assess their attention span.
How long is each violin lesson?
We offer 30-minute weekly lessons, as well as 45 or 60 minutes for more in-depth instruction, MTAC preparation, and older students.
Do you teach beginners?
Absolutely! We specialize in teaching beginners and make sure every new student builds a strong foundation in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
Can adults take violin lessons too?
Yes! Adult learners are always welcome at Busy Bees Music School. Whether you're picking up the violin for the first time or returning after years, we tailor the lessons to your goals and pace. We have many adult students!
What kind of violin should I have at home?
We can recommend violins depending on your budget, along with the best violin stores in the area. We also provide violin rentals for just $30/month if you are looking for a rental! Our rentals come in all sizes - 1/32nd through 4/4. Our staff can assist with having your child sized at no additional cost.
How much do violin lessons cost?
Lesson rates vary based on length of the lesson, but our private violin lesson program with our award-winning music teachers is $160/month. Our teachers go through a rigorous vetting process, including educational and background checks, and are the crop of the top here in Westminster and Orange County. For each teacher we hire, we receive over 45 applications.
What styles of music do you teach?
We teach classical, jazz, pop, gypsy / traditional (fiddle-style), contemporary, and more. Lessons are personalized to each student’s musical preferences.
Do students in violin lessons get performance opportunities?
Yes! We host student recitals throughout the year in Westminster and nearby venues, giving students a chance to build confidence and celebrate progress.
